Maker Carnival
The Maker Faire Project that I built was Skee Ball. The build process was long, and I worked with the help of my group Josh, Megan, Chase, and Abby. After a rocky start writing up the proposal, it was time to start. I drafted multiple sketches for the final design, iterating upon each new one with improvements and fixes to make it more practical. After an arduous design process, the team split into groups for more efficient work. I was responsible for creating the ramp and ramp casing of the build. The goals for this aspect were to make a compact, smooth, and utilitarian ramp. This took some time, but by working with Megan and Chase to cut wood, we succeeded. We used particle board for the main body and ply wood for the ramp, and after a smooth coat of red paint, this part was done. After this, I worked on the ball return. The final design utilized sloped cardboard to return the balls through gravity. Overall, the project turned out pretty well. We exceeded the original time frame, yet came up with a fun and challenging result by combining the efforts of the many different people in the group.
